Why Finland?

Miksi Suomi?
A question that I hear a lot..

The story is actually quite extraordinary..
Everything started some years ago in sunny Barcelona, where I was spending holidays with my friends. None of us could ever be described as patriotic or proud of our country, we all have our reasons for that. And one hot day on the crowded Barcelona beach we got one strong reason more..

Tervetuloa!

Welcome, my visitors :)

Once again I have decided to create a blog.. a little space on the internet, where I could write my messed thoughts and ideas and maybe share it with few people, who somehow, probably accidentally, find themselves visiting this page and reading my little posts.

Or maybe this blog is just another result of my procrastination..

Anyway, I should probably tell you a little about myself..
I could write here several pages about who I am and what I do.. But you will probably learn the most about me from the posts I will be putting here in the future. So now I will tell you just a little bit, so you get at least some idea :)

I am 21-year-old student from Prague. When I tell people what I study, the most common reaction is "interesting".. then some of them really get interested, others consider me a big weirdo. It's absolutely up to you what will you think, I personally see myself mostly as the second option :)

The field of my studies is Finnish and Swedish. And since I'm very enthusiastic about what I do and I'm very obsessed with anything about the North, especially about Finland, you will read a lot about this part of the world on this blog :) I will try to share with you some interesting facts about these beautiful and very remarkable countries.. mostly things that I've seen and experienced by myself during my visits there or during learning and trying to use their languages.

And one more thing:
I decided to write this blog in English (and you will surely find here some words in Finnish as well.. I love that language), even though I'm not a native speaker. I use English a lot and I like to write in this language..it somehow feels more natural to me than writing in my mother language (I told you I'm a weirdo!). Still, I know that my English is definitely not perfect and that I will surely make some mistakes while writing here.. so I want to apologize to all grammar nazis for not having perfect English and to all English native speakers for ruining their language.

And this will do for the start :)

Hauskaa päivää kaikille! / Have a nice day! :)
